I am a volunteer with the Gender and Family Project, an organization dedicated to empowering youth, families and communities with gender affirming services, training and research. We are recruiting providers of gender-affirming / transition-related medical and behavioral health care to participate in a study. Please read to see if you are eligible to participate or know others who might be eligible.
Over the last 10 years, there has been a significant increase in legislation which limits or criminalizes gender-affirming / transition-related care for transgender and gender diverse individuals in the U.S. The present study seeks to assess the personal and professional impact of such legislation on providers of gender-affirming / transition-related care. Results of this study will be used to advocate for the well-being of providers of gender-affirming / transition-related.
You are invited to participate in this research study called Measuring TAPE: Trans-Affirming Providers’ Experiences. You may qualify to take part in this research study if you:
are over 18 years old;
are a provider or clinician practicing gender-affirming / transition-related care;
practice in the U.S. currently or have practiced in the U.S. within the past 4 years;
have provided gender-affirming / transition-related care to at least one patient in the last 4 years.
If you decide to participate, you will answer a series of questions regarding your demographics, the impact of anti-trans legislation on your practice, and a series of scales assessing how your wellness has been affected. You will complete these questions in an online survey that can be accessed from a phone or computer at any time. We anticipate the entire set of questions will take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. You are welcome to skip any questions you do not wish to answer.
If you know anyone else who might be eligible to participate, please forward them this email, send them the flyer, and/or let us know their contact information.
If you have questions about taking part in this research study, feel free to reply to me or contact the Primary Researcher, Nat Roberts, M.A., at nroberts@ackerman.org.
